Hygge in the Early Years Qualified
I am a qualified teacher with over 13 years’ experience. I have taught from EYFS up to year 8 in a range of settings including nurseries and schools in Costa Rica, Finland and the UK.
I have a passion for high quality early years provision and from my experiences in Finland have a love for learning in nature and the outdoors.
I have two children of my own who are my Finca inspiration. Watching my children grow, develop and learn through their early years on our farm has been a privilege and a joy that I now want to share with others. My little girl also attended an incredible TLC setting and seeing the difference, as a parent, this high-quality provision made to her development and well being was the final motivation I needed to set up Finca TLC.
I believe in a nurturing and child-initiated approach to education. I take inspiration from both Montessori and Steiner philosophies for teaching, creating a child - led holistic approach to learning, taking account of the needs of the whole child. Children are naturally eager for knowledge and our role as teachers at Finca is to guide and support them in their own personal journey.

During my T level in Childcare I have spent my work experience working in a Reception class and in a local pre-school. I have also done work experience in a local school in Years 4 and 6.
I believe that all children should have the same opportunities and support. The right learning environment makes all the difference to a child's development.
